The Amazon effect is real and has everyone that retails to customers nervous, about the new trends with online shopping. Home Depot, Walmart, Dillions and many others are coming up with their own ideas of how to be a player in the new market place and to maintain their loyal customer base. John Deere Dealers are no different and BTI is also placing our flag in this market place with our new Customer portal and creating an online experience for our valued customers. Customers can look at their accounts, view parts catalogs and order needed parts. We will be adding additional options to our new market place in the very near future!
We No Longer Collect Data Just Because We Can!
BTI Ag Solutions Specialists have been working closely with our customers this past year to assist them in collecting data and managing it. With John Deere AMS equipment, producers are collecting all manner of data. They collect information on seeding rates, fuel usage, fertilizer and chemicals applied as well as harvest yield data. We are getting better in using all this data and incorporating it into the decision-making process. The Farm Service Agency will accept yield data collected with our display as proof of yield. Application maps for seeding, fertilizer and chemical can be used to show proof of application and to track inventories. Machine data can alert the customer and our service department when a machine has a developing issue allowing for quicker resolution for that customer. As profit margins shrink data is helping us find additional income.
Time To Check The Nutrient Bank Account!
We are finishing up the fall crops for 2018 and it is time once again to start preparing for 2019. The best way to start this planning process is to take peak at soil fertility and see what is left in the nutrient bank. BTI Ag solutions offers all manner of soil sampling for our customers, from composite samples to full blown grid sampling. If our vehicle “acts up” we plug it into a computer to see what it can tell us about what is needed to get it running again. Sampling the soil and analyzing the nutrients to see what we need to add to be successful with the next crop is critical. When we pump gas in the tank to fill it back up to full. We don’t stand there and let gas run out on the ground, at least not on purpose. We want enough fertility to reach the potential yield goal we desire but no more. Sampling is inexpensive and guides producers with a cost-effective solution.
